Hein started painting at age 10.
He graduated from Michaelis School of Fine, UCT in 1967.
Hein spent most of his adult working life as a creative director of an advertising agency and later executive creative director.
He designed and illustrated a range of commemorative postage stamps including the South African definitive stamp series featuring succulent plants.
He exhibited and sold works at an international Botanical Exhibition in Jhb.
Hein also developed corporate identities, Chinese Brush illustrations for institutional, thematic, web and identities applications and designed and illustrated dust jackets for book publishers.
Having spent a career in the broader visual/conceptual realm. Hein occupies his time exploring and forming new connections through image making on a personal as well as on a commissioned basis. He lives in Wilderness in the Garden Route. Click here for more information
