Vernon Swart – featured artist in Matie group exhibition

Vernon Swart obtained his MA (FA) from the University of Stellenbosch in 1986. After his studies up until the late 1990s he shared his knowledge and passion educating others in painting, drawing and History of Art. He always stayed true to the Cape and after being an art educator for about 12 years in Cape Town and Stellenbosch he started to practice as a full time artist from his studio in Stellenbosch.

Swart have participated in various exhibitions locally and abroad including shows in London, New York, Amsterdam, The Bahamas and Namibia.

Recently he had an exhibition in Okiep entitled Namakwaland.

He is widely known for his landscapes and nudes depicted in a super-realistic style paying great attention to detail and the use of colour, shadow and composition.
